PRIVACY POLICY of UPlocator
This privacy policy governs your use of the APP UPlocator
Description
UPlocator is a client of the webservice UNITED-PAGES (for detailed information see https://info.united-pages.com/)
mainly used in background to track periodically the current location of a user's device and update the resp. data in
UNITED-PAGES (on www.united-pages.com).
The user can start/stop tracking at any time and even manually change or delete his location data via the APP.
There are further features that can be triggered via SMS to localize a stolen or lost device.
Mandatory Settings
- Email/Password
UNITED-PAGES account that is used to upload own location and access the location of other UNITED-PAGES accounts (Following)
- Location
The permissions dialog allows to set the accuracy of location data.
Switching on is necessary for foreground (manually triggered) and background tracking.
- Background
Switching on is necessary for background tracking that can be stopped at any time.
Optionally Settings
- Notification
Periodically a notification is generated each time own location or one of the Following was updated in UNITED-PAGES.
- SMS
When receiving a SMS with the configured code the current location is uploaded to UNITED-PAGES and the configured Alert is triggered.
- Alert
The configured ringtone sounds even when the (probabaly lost) device is muted.
- SPY
When receiving a SMS with the configured code extended by 'spy' the SPY-mode is activated i.e. each time the (probably stolen) device returns from Screen-Off to Screen-on
the UPspy APP is started in foreground. The APP takes a picture (of the thief) with the front camera and uploads it together with with the current location to UNITED-PAGES.
The UPspy APP is only available via the UPstore APP due to strong security guidelines of Google Playstore.
- Follower
Data access to the uploaded location data can be restricted to UNITED-PAGES accounts that are configured as Follower.
- Following
Location data of added UNITED-PAGES accounts will also be updated periodically (if resp. access rights have been granted by their side).
Warning
www.united-pages.com is currently the only UNITED-PAGES webserver and still under construction.
Feel free for free usage.
Your data will not be used or passed to a 3rd party in any way, but there is no warranty that your data will be lost or accidentally hacked!!!
You can delete your account and data at any time.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason.
We will notify you of any changes to our Privacy Policy by posting the new Privacy Policy here
and informing you in the description of a new version.
You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use
is deemed approval of all changes.
